Five stage reverse osmosis with an alkaline and pH boost after the membrane, so the water is stripped and then rebalanced rather than left flat.
Stripped, then rebalanced
Reverse osmosis takes almost everything out, including what makes water taste like anything. The alkaline stage afterwards is why this does not taste flat.
